James Henson serves as general counsel and senior managing director of ORIX Real Estate Capital (OREC), the combined company of RED Capital Group, Hunt Real Estate Capital and Lancaster Pollard.
Mr. Henson held the same positions at RED Capital Group, from 2010 to 2013, and served on the board of managers of RED’s parent holding company from 2010 to 2015.
In 1999, he co-founded Stonehenge Financial Holdings, Inc., a firm engaged in merchant banking, private equity investing and asset management. He served as principal and general counsel of the firm until 2010. From 1989 through 1999, he was vice chairman and general counsel of Banc One Capital Holdings Corporation, one of the five lines of business of Banc One Corporation, the super-regional bank holding company. Through its subsidiaries, Banc One Capital Holdings Corporation engaged in investment and merchant banking, securities and insurance brokerage, investment management and trust services, and commercial mortgage lending and servicing.
Prior to that, he was a partner at Meuse, Rinker, Chapman, Endres & Brooks, a regional investment banking firm. Mr. Henson served as corporate counsel and investment banker for the firm, specializing in complex structured securitizations and bond refundings.
He is registered as a general securities principal and a municipal securities principal.
