William T. Hyman is Senior Managing Director of Hunt Real Estate Capital. Mr. Hyman serves as the firm’s Fannie Mae DUS CEO and is responsible for Agency Relationship Management and strategic technology and training initiatives. Previously, Mr. Hyman oversaw Hunt Real Estate Capital’s production activities for conventional multifamily properties under its proprietary, Fannie Mae DUS and Freddie Mac product lines, and commercial properties under its proprietary programs. Under his leadership, the business significantly grew its annual lending activity to reach more than $2 billion annually. He was instrumental in expanding the business reach over the past four years, opening new production offices in: Chicago, Boston, Miami, Seattle, Cleveland, Buffalo and Charleston.

Mr. Hyman has been with the firm since 1988, following the merger of PW Funding, where he was Co-President, and CharterMac (a predecessor firm). At PW Funding, Mr. Hyman was an Executive Vice President and managed loan production operations for its mortgage banking platform. Prior to that, he served as Chief Underwriter and Head of the Credit Department for the firm’s Fannie Mae DUS lending activity.

Mr. Hyman is a frequent speaker and panelist at industry conferences. He is a member of the Fannie Mae DUS Advisory Council (currently co-chair), and a past member of the Freddie Mac Seller Servicer Production Council. In 2014, he was a guest columnist for Commercial Property Executive, where he wrote an authoritative piece entitled, “Barclay Aggregated Bond 21 Index Changes to Benefit Multi-Family.”

Mr. Hyman serves on the governance council of The Yale Club of New York City, and chairs the club’s Finance Committee. His interests include scuba diving, guitar, and travel.

Mr. Hyman earned a Master of Business Administration from Washington University in St. Louis, and a Bachelor of Arts from Yale University where he majored in architecture.
